Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique made an honest admission that he was not "fully satisfied" with star player Kylian Mbappe despite scoring a hat-trick in his side's three-goal victory against Stade de Reims on Saturday (November 11).

PSG jumped to the first position in the Ligue 1 points table over O.G. Nice with 27 points in 12 games but Enrique remained unhappy as he wants Mbappe to contribute more.

“In terms of goals I have nothing to add. He is unique,” Luis Enrique told broadcaster Canal Plus after Mbappe’s hat-trick.

“But I ask for more from Kylian Mbappe. Not in terms of goals. I ask for more from him in terms of supporting the rest of the team and participating with the team in more situations in the game. I think he is one of the best players in the world, without any doubt, but we still need to see a better Kylian and I think he can get better.”

Enrique stated that Mbappe is very ambitious just like the team he plays in.

“It is better if I tell him first rather than telling the press. He is very ambitious. So is the team. I don’t want him to rest on his laurels,” he added.

It is worth noting that Mbappe's contract with the French club ends at the end of the current season in June 2024 which means that he would be free to negotiate with any club in January next year.

The long-lasting drama was held in the French capital in the summer when Kylian announced that he would not renew with the club and the club hierarchy decided to omit him from PSG's pre-season tour to Asia.

But after some exchange of words, Mbappe was included back in the squad but he has not spoken on the subject ever since.

However, after the win over Reims, the 24-year-old was asked about the situation but he refused to talk about it saying that he left it to the reporters.

“The most important thing, what I wanted [last summer] was to play football,” Mbappe said. “I leave the rest to you [reporters], who do it well. I don’t want to talk about anything else. I think that’s enough.”

“The most important thing is to enjoy the game. To be honest, I don’t need to play well to score. But what I want is to play well and score.”
